The story begins with the film’s main character, Lal Singh Chadha, telling the strangely bad story of his life to the woman sitting in front of him on the train, “my mother used to say that life is like golgappe, it is like golgappe, it fills the stomach, even if it fills the mind.”   At the same time, he takes out some gooseberries from the box and a bottle of spiced water, and uses them to open the pot of memories from his life.   At first, the woman in front seems uninterested in red objects. However, as Red’s reputation spreads, everyone in the compartment starts to pay attention to the stories he tells.

Red is initially weak in his legs and a retarded child, whose mother encourages Red by ignoring his shortcomings.
