Tigmanshu Dhulia directed Pan Singh Tomar, a biographical drama that was released in 2012. Tomar is a young guy who enlists in the army owing to poverty, runs on a race track to conquer hunger, receives a medal for his country, but then takes up a pistol and becomes a thief. The film is based on a true incident.

A nine-year-old joins a soldier at first, but the army advises him to pursue athletics because he used to run extremely fast. He started doing sports for money. A number of recordings have their own names as well. When he retires from his career, he relocates to the village. However, another alteration in his life since then is that he now needs to carry a pistol in the wake of his cousins. Because of the land conflict, he is forced to become a rebel. It’s not that he didn’t seek out to anybody before pulling the trigger. He also visits a shoemaker.

However, all of his decorations are fabricated there. When Pan Singh, who has become a dacoit, is asked when he became a dacoit, he responds furiously, ‘dacoit toh is sitting in Parliament, I toh Baaghi hoon’ (he liked to call himself a Baaghi). He regretted doing so, but he had no option.
